About Dolly Parton
Early in her career, Dolly Parton wrote songs for Hank Williams, Jr. and Skeeter Davis, among others. She was pitched as a pop singer, to little success. Insisting on singing country style songs, Dolly Parton received the opportunity and started creeping up the charts, until Hello I'm Dolly, her first LP, was released in 1967.
